The strip on the back works like a suction cup and will not lose suction when used on the correct surfaces. After traveling or just regular use and handling, the back strip could get a little dirty.
We would recommend using a piece of tape in the way of a lint roller to remove any extra bit of lint or natural oils that can may stick to after handling a few times. I would also recommend washing the strip with warm soap and water and make sure to **leave it out to dry for 24 hours** before re-sticking it to your **flat tile or mirror**. Please be sure to apply 5 seconds of firm pressure.
The suction strip will only work perfectly on 100% flat surfaces. While shiny tiling usually is, it is not guaranteed to be flat (unlike glass or mirror).
Shower tiling can collect a large amount of invisible grime which is tough to see and tougher to clean. This grime, above all, can collect in the suction strip and cause it to lose suction over time, so please ensure that tiling is entirely clean.
Overall, the safest use of the quip cover will be on mirror or glass. If you have any doubts, please use the quip cover as a stand and simply place it on the rim of your shower / tub / shower caddy!
We also have spare travel mounts in the "Supplies" section of our store page if you would like to purchase a new one.
